Pop Sonnets
by Erik Didriksen

A collection of brilliant reworkings of modern songs into Shakespearian verse from Quirk Books. When wondering how to simultaneously reference contemporary music and the Elizabethan era, this famous Bruce Springsteen image came to mind; once the guitar was traded for a lute, the rest came easily.

Author Erik Didriksen was a good sport about not having a normal author photo.

To right, hits by Will Smith and the Backstreet Boys get the sonnet treatment— 14 lines, iambic pentameter, the works.
